The World of Little House by Carolyn Strom Collins and Christina Wyss Eriksson, illustrated by Garth Williams and Deborah Maze
Recently Re-released by Harper Collins
One of America’s most beloved authors, Laura Ingalls Wilder, inspired children’s imaginations and helped shape the popular view of pioneer life on the western frontier. This book focuses on Laura’s adult life and writing career, and discusses how her real life was different from her Little House books. In addition, it includes chapters from her children’s series which explore her stories, travels, foods, and activities, as well as it provides floorplans from her homes, timelines, family tree, and a guide to all of her Little House sites and museums.
The World of Little House makes a great addition to Laura’s annotated autobiography, Pioneer Girl, which recently came out by editor, Pamela Smith Hill.
